A lifetime of weighting

As I pondered where our obsession for weight came from, I realised that we are weighed from the moment we are born.
One of the first questions asked when a baby is born is "how much did they weigh" or put another way, "how big was the baby".

There I had it. I sat in astonishment at my thought and realisation. From the moment we are born, we are weighed. We are then measured against a weight and height chart that judges and advises of when the baby is overweight. Childhood obesity is now at the forefront of the media and people are watching this generation with a keen eye.......... are the exercising enough> Eating right> You know there's a growing rate of childhood obesity, etc etc

I do feel sorry for this next generation. The pressure is on. Everyone is watching. It's sad. Sad that they can't have a treat, or live life like everyone before them has, for they are being watched with eagle eyes for the obesity epidemic may overtake them.

On that note, the Government has embarked on a new campaign. http://swapit.gov.au/ encourages kids to 'swap it, don't stop it' by substituting the food for a smaller quantity.

I have more to say on the diet industry, but will save that for another day ;)

I hope you have a wonderful day xx

I'm baaack

I haven't blogged in a while, and have taken some time off (aka 'checked out of life')for 2 months. I put on some weight, and discovered the reasons for my emotional eating. Well all I can say is THANK GOODNESS!!!!!! It was the one thing that was holding me back.

They say old habits die hard. Well, the old hand to mouth habit, aka emotional eating, was a habit I would refer back to and it was driving me nuts! So that sorted, it's time to focus on my next goals, which are:
* get lean (lose body fat)
* gain muscle (*get bigger)
* do another photoshoot
* finished my last 2 assignments for my PT qualifications
* start my nutrition course

Welcome to my journey :) xx
